The first nostalgia

my reflection for my project in f and b.

I entered college in Davao Doctors because I want a new life: new people to meet, new environment and also I heard that the program BSHM-HRM is good. When first day came, I was alone and so the second and third, but I learned that I need to interact with other people or else I'll be left out and it is also part of the course to be friendly and to socialize. I met my friends, and at first they thought I was just a plain normal girl who is conservative and quiet but as the days go by and activities looming in, me and the class of Q1A began to show our real selves.

First is the one-minute for seven folds by our teacher, followed by the waitering. It is to test our skills in agility and flexibility as waitstaffs, luckily, I didn't fell a bottle but when the 8 pilsens are placed, it was like I was about to give up. But never giving up is one of my lessons here in this course, last midterm, ma'am gave me a grade of 76 but instead of complaining it to her, I pushed the grade to 89 last pre-finals. Lots of activities were conducted like the waitering by our batch 2 from American service and set-up to Russian. Camaraderie, teamwork, initiative, presence of mind, responisibility, even the application of sanitation were observed by our teachers and the students. Even though some of us failed to exemplify some of these traits, we still value the friendship. In times of difficulties and struggles regarding our social life, family, friends and teachers we managed to move on. That's what I learned during the semester, so from me, being a so called anti-socialite, now, people even said to me: "tabian man diay ka..". And as the days of youthful 17 continues, I aimed to be a strong woman just like Jane and Miles. I also admire Marshali for her good communicative skills that serves as my inspiration so that when I talk in front, I don't have to stutter. ma'am jem also said to us that as future professionals in the field of Hospitality Industry, we shouldn't be weak, if we need to have a persona, we must have it in order to render great service.

Exposures in Apo View Hotel and Marco Polo is isn't just about seeing the real world of hospitality industry especially in food and beverage service, we also used it to showcase talents, had a bonding and a break from all of the pressures of college life. Picture Uploads on facebook made me nostalgic, time flies too fast and so as I finish this reflection, I would like to say my thanks to ma'am jem, my fellow cancerian for being a good teacher and manager to us, to my fellow waitstaff, the Q1A students, I'll miss you and hopefully we would share more memories in the coming semesters.
