Hip Hop Competition

I was at the back, waiting for my turn; when they opened the pathway, I immediately move forward. The music began; when it’s on cue, I sang but I couldn’t hear my voice. I looked at Liane, but she just moved on singing on her own, I was just there onstage with a microphone on my hand, mute and then…
…. Revina sang my part instead.
That was 4 years ago.
Now, my heart thumping, I wouldn’t dare go back and waste everything. This is it: my time to overcome what had happened to me before. Memories of my blackout went back, hunting me but all I cared is my heartbeat ringing my ears, so loud that I feel excited yet unpredictable. The dancing music began and I was the last one to run to the stage; when the modern dance started I moved to the rhythm, looked at sir Jm and smiled: yes, I finally won the battle.
After the production dance number, I feel confident to go back onstage, I don’t feel nervous but I feel tired. I memorized everything, but the only problem that I could think of is my facial expression: I just couldn’t close my mouth. For the first part of the dance, I feel very conscious of my cap, hoping that it wouldn’t fall off. The competition ended and we won second place, but it’s a good thing we also won as the over-all champion.
After that, I wouldn’t dare dance onstage again. :P
