Just Be Friends

After Janelle’s shameless panick at the bar, I went to the pizza restaurant to check things out. There were only few dishes left to clean and no customers to entertain, that’s why Janelle was stuck at the bar chatting with our friends.
Sir Julius smiled at me and said that I should go back and take some more rest, but I told him that I’m fine and the medicine just started its healing wonders. Martin was still talking to Miss Jeane and when Sir Julius butt into their conversation, I found myself sticking to Chef Amor and I told her that this night is my last.
I couldn’t believe that I will miss them, ever since I got to work there, I feel a little bit awkward working in a different place. Good thing I learned to adapt and converse with them and so me and Chef Amor join the trio conversation.
Not until the three employees were busing talking about something me and Martin couldn't participate.
Martin went inside the mini kitchen and stood beside me.
Martin: So how are you?
Me: better, I guess.
Martin: you guess?
Me: it’s just a medicine and unfortunately I only brought with me one. When the night goes on, my fever will come back.
Martin: So you’re not going with us?
Me: Nope, you know I have to. I just have to keep myself thinking that I will be alright.
And then we talked about anime.
I don’t know how that topic went up but we got hooked into talking about it, aside from that, I learned that Martin doesn’t like online games and likes to read when time allows it. He’s interested in reading a book though and I said that Janelle might have a copy of it.
It was the longest conversation that I have with Martin and it feels like everything went back to normal, like nothing happened; Chef Amor noticed it and started the teasing but me and Martin were used to it.
So when they closed the restaurant, I bade them farewell and I went back to the bar.
“Wait, I’ll come with you.” Martin said.
And so we walked together, together back as friends.
